Getting from here to there By Air
Hernando County boasts its own airport for private and public use located on US 41 in Brooksville. The runways easily accommodate private and commercial aircraft.
- The airport has an onsite Rail Park and Airpark.
- I-75, U.S. 41, and U.S. 19 are nearby. The adjacent Suncoast Parkway has reduced travel time to Tampa considerably.
- An Airport Industrial Park that is an emerging player in Florida’s High Tech Corridor.
While having consistent growth in its traffic rate, the Hernando County Airport does not yet serve the general public through commercial airlines.
The Hernando County Airport offers:
- Runways: One 5,000-foot runway and one 7,000 foot runway.
- Access to fuel services with both Jet A and Avgas.
- T-hangars, ample tie downs.
- Aviation related services on the field.

Tampa International is less than one hour from Hernando County. The Clearwater/ St. Petersburg airport is another option for commercial travel.
By Land
There are several major highways that cross Hernando County: Interstate 75 on the east side of the county. US 41 runs through Brooksville and US 19 traverses along the west coast . The scenic Suncoast Parkway now offers residents stress free travel south to Tampa, St. Petersburg and beyond. Greyhound bus service has pick up points in Brooksville and Spring Hill.
Local Public Transportation
THE Bus/The Hernando Express will help you open the door to discovery. Bus routes include stops at major shopping centers, libraries, hospitals, governmental offices, Pasco-Hernando Community College, YMCA, medical complexes, several communities (the front entrances), recreational areas and centers.

Brooksville Route – 5:30 am to 5:30 pm
Spring Hill Routes – 6:00 am to 6:00 pm
