For a bright future in some of today’s most exciting careers, The Suncoast Technical Education Center, which was developed as a joint venture between the Hernando County School District, CETA (Chamber Education Training Association) and the Office of Business Development, offers accessible and affordable adult training programs for individuals sixteen years of age and older who are looking to acquire new or update existing skills that are regionally in demand.

The Hernando County Education Foundation was founded in 1988. It is a 501c3 Non-profit organization whose purpose is to seek out financial support for the unfunded needs within the public school system. Their mission is to create partnerships that advance student achievement and promote excellence within Hernando County public education. It focuses on student scholarships, classroom grants, literacy and recognition programs. Recently, it was expanded its focus to include STEM education, Career/Technical Education and Community Engagement work.

Since 2010, The Weeki Wachee Springs Coast Environmental Education Center has provided visiting students from local schools a wonderful opportunity to learn about the importance of environmental, responsibility, conservation and stewardship. The Center is located on 23 acres of scrub habitat on the Southwest Florida Water Management District’s Weeki Wachee Preserve along the Weeki Wachee River in Hernando County.

PHSC continues to expand not only their facilities but their academic offerings as well. These offerings include partnerships with Hodges University, Barry University, and University of South Florida courses. This wide array of AS degrees and AA degrees spanning over 40+ high demand career programs, makes PHSC a very attractive and affordable education choice.
